While looking at various articles about William Faulkner, I learned a significant amount of information through my research about him. He was born on September 25, 1897 in New Albany, Mississippi. I learned that he is a winner of the Nobel Prize and he is known throughout the world as one of the twentieth century's greatest writers. His novel, "The Sound and the Fury" was considered a great artistic achievement and with that Faulkner had accomplished more than most writers could accomplish in a life time! What was also interesting was that he published a great number of literary works during the time of financial ruin and the Great Depression. For a young writer that didn't graduate high school or receive a college degree, he was still successful throughout his writing career.

  1. I agree with you that he accomplished a lot in his lifetime. He wrote a lot of novels and was very well known. I learned from your blog that he was writing during the Great Depression. I find this very interesting because he sold so many novels and poetry and that is amazing in that it was during such a economically difficult time. I like your blog Kassi!
